Here you will find answers to frequently asked questions regarding the courses of the Ski & Snowboard School Unterbäch.

What different types of courses are offered?

If your child is into skiing, you can choose between private lessons or group lessons. Group lessons are offered on weekdays (from monday to friday). On weekends only private lessons can be booked.

If your child is into snowboarding, you can only book private lessons, due to low demand. Private lessons can be booked every day.

What is the difference between private lessons and group lessons?

In a private lesson, the ski instructor concentrates only on your child. The private lesson is, thus, completely tailored to your child's personal skills and needs.

In a group lesson, attention is focused on the whole class. Your child benefits from the group spirit.

How big does a group have to be in order for it to come off?

A group will be formed if at least 4 persons with the same Swiss Snow League Level participate.

How is the group classification done?

The group classification follows the guidelines of the Swiss Snow League:

  • Snowgarden: Novice
  • Blue League: Beginners
  • Red League: Advanced
  • Black League: Pro

The clips of the Swiss Snow League help you to assess your level.

Can our children join a group together?

The group classification is primarily based on the ability to ski (according to the Swiss Snow League) of the participants. So, if your children are skiing more or less equally well, they can join a group together. If the children have different skiing levels, the child with the better skiing skills needs to join the group of the child with the weaker skiing skills.

When can our children join a group course?

Our group courses always start on monday and end on friday. If your child joins the course later on during the week, the level of the group may already be (too) advanced. We recommend to do a "trial day", if your child is a novice. For children with blue, red or black league level it is no problem to join an existing group.

At what age  children can start taking ski lessons?

We recommend starting from 3.5 years. For younger children, a trial day is obligatory.

What equipment is required?

The basic equipment includes ski boots, skis and ski poles (except snowgarden). A helmet and goggles are strongly recommended. Please dress your children according to the weather and don't forget to apply sunscreen.

Is the ski pass included in the course fee?

The snowgarden courses include the use of the magic carpet. For all other ski courses, the ski passes must be purchased additonally. Children under 9 years of age (depends on date of birth) receive their ski pass free of charge.

The easiest way is an online booking. Of course you can also reach us by phone or email (see contact details). If you are on site, our office will be happy to advise you on your reservation. Please note our office opening hours.
